Working closely with Louisiana Economic Development (LED), WAVTEQ helped secure an investment from China-based Wanhua Chemical Group. The firm will establish a major chemical manufacturing complex with an investment of $1.12 billion. The project will create 170 new direct jobs and 945 indirect jobs with an annual salary average of $70,440 plus benefits.
WAVTEQ identified Wanhua as an investment opportunity for Louisiana and facilitated site visits to the USA and coordinated closely with the HQ in China to secure the decision to invest.

Changan plans to create 300 R&D jobs at Birmingham Business Park after signing a lease for 25,000 sq ft of office space. WAVTEQ worked with Marketing Birmingham to secure the investment, identifying the investment opportunity in 2013 and supporting both a delegation from Birmingham to visit Changan in China and a site visit of the company to Birmingham.
Changan has nearly 50,000 employees worldwide and produced 2.54 million vehicles in 2014.

Louisiana Economic Development worked with WAVTEQ to secure the investment of Yuhuang Chemical in St. James Parish, Louisiana. The company will establish a $1.85bn world-scale methanol manufacturing complex creating 400 new jobs on a 1,100 acre site. The methanol will be shipped to China and North American customers.
WAVTEQ China organized and attended meetings with Yuhang and a senior delegation from Louisiana.
Dr Henry Loewendahl, CEO of WAVTEQ, gave a presentation on Chinese and Asian FDI at The fDi Forum in Hong Kong, which was attended by over 100 major Chinese and foreign corporations.

From 1 September 2014, WAVTEQ is the authorized supplier of fDi Intelligence data products and services to public and private sector organizations across Asia and the Middle East. This appointment follows nearly five years of WAVTEQ successfully covering the Canadian market for fDi Intelligence.

WAVTEQ India, representing the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure to promote the Canadian state has secured a $10m investment from Delhi-based online restaurant search firm, Zomato.
The company has launched in Toronto with plans to create 50 jobs within the next 12 months. From here, Zomato will use the city as a base to expand further across North America, with Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, and Calgary being top of its list. Zomato is already available for 270,000 restaurants across 17 countries and 100 cities around the world.
