Shintech Louisiana LLC have invested $1.49 billion in the state to develop a new chlor alkali and vinyl chloride monomer production facility. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd., the world’s largest PVC producer.

WAVTEQ’s Japan team supported LED with in-market aftercare support to engage with Shin Etsu’s HQ in Japan for re-investment and new projects. WAVTEQ facilitated meetings each year between Shin Etsu and LED delegations to Japan and built solid relationships with senior decision makers in Shin Etsu, coordinating with LED teams working with the local subsidiary in Louisiana and US HQ in Texas.

The investment is the largest Japanese manufacturing FDI project globally in 2018 to date.
