DFID - Jordan FDI Conference (UK)

Wavteq worked with the Department for International Development (DFID) to ensure strong development outcomes for the UK Jordan Conference. Wavteq used extensive engagement with international investors and the private sector to identify key market players to understand perceptions of the Jordanian market. This research was used to advise DFID on the agenda, attendees and format of the Conference, ultimately contributing to successful outcomes for the Partnership.

Key Deliverables

  • Developed a target database of 800 companies in the 4 designated sectors, using our “IntTarg” method that takes into account capacity for FDI, track record in international expansion, current geo-footprint and a number of other key ‘combat indicators’
  • Conducted outreach activities to this list plus a list of approx. 400 provided by various parts of Her Majesty’s Government and their Embassy network
  • Initiated introductory meetings with senior executives whose views on the Jordanian market would be helpful in shaping Conference content and themes
  • Attended the conference and interacted with senior business people; harvested their views on the Jordan opportunity

Project Highlights/Achievements

  • Recruited interest from over 100 quality delegates in relevant sectors
  • Supported the delegate management process via running mail merge campaigns to over 1000 companies; liaising with interested parties to provide further information and tracking all RSVPs in a consolidated manner
  • Provided event management support in the run-up and on the day of the Conference
  • Identified 8 potential project leads that were shared with DFID and their counterparts at the Jordan Investment Commission
